2019 Round-Up

2019 Round-Up

“Another year over, a new one just [about to] begun…”

2019 marks the end of our 7th year in business and what a year it has been! With the introduction of Dave and Ray to the team, we have been able to take on bigger jobs, bringing our services to even more home-movers. Talking of which, we have also expanded our service areas to include Harborne, Kings Norton and Northfield. But that’s not all…

Customer Service

In the early part of the year, we spent some time readdressing our customer offering and looked at how we could provide a removal service which stands out from the crowd. After several months of research and planning, our Bronze, Silver and Gold packages were finalised. We had our customer’s needs in mind when designing 3 complete packages which provide removal solutions to suit all requirements and budgets.

However, we weren’t content with this being the only change to our customer service. We are always looking at ways in which we can increase our standards which meant that this year an upgrade to our packing materials was in order. Changing our wardrobe boxes from cardboard to plastic (in Jones Services red to boot!) has made a big impact. This is because our customer’s clothes now receive an extra level of protection during transit. It’s the little things that make all the difference!

Community

Another key decision we made was to work more with the local community and the businesses that operate within it. This started with a trip to Halesowen Carnival as part of some profile-raising. Next, we were noticing more and more that many of our customers were selling their homes with Taylor’s Estate Agents. Therefore, we reached out to to see if they would like to work with us. When we were able to show first-hand that we’re not all talk and no trousers our referral system was born.

We couldn’t mention business relationships without a shout-out to Storagebase. We’ve worked closely with the team at their Wednesbury branch since it opened. Therefore, when we made an internal decision to refer our own customers to one storage provider, Storagebase was the obvious choice.

Puppy Love

It’s certainly been all paws-to-the-pump this year…

Back in the Spring, we wanted to introduce a company mascot. However, we had no idea who, or what, this should be. When we spotted a cuddly bulldog puppy sitting all alone on a post-valentines-day-sale shelf, we knew he was the one! But what should our new pal be called? We took to our Facebook followers and asked them. From many fantastic suggestions, we picked our favourite, Luton, named after the model of our removal vans.

From then on, Luton started accompanying us on the road and even got his own uniform! However, this wasn’t enough for us. Inspired by Luton’s uncanny likeness to Kate Moss, or was it Kylie Jenner, we thought, “why not have our own ‘Face of Jones Services’ with a pup that was a little less, well, lifeless representing our brand”?

We took to Facebook once again, and even had our campaign featured in the local news, to find the perfect pooch. After literally hundreds of entries swarmed in, we had the difficult task of picking a winner. One entry we kept going back to was that of Pongo the Dalmatian. I think we had our winner! After an interesting photoshoot at Haden Hill Park, we had enough close ups of Pongo’s ‘good side’ to put together a campaign to coincide with the launch of our new website.

Thank you

And so, with the chimes of Big Ben just around the corner, our reflection of the last 12 months is complete. Therefore, we’d like to take this opportunity to thank all of the customers who have moved with us this year. May you all have a healthy, happy and prosperous 2020.
