JONES SERVICES – A LICENCE TO DISPOSE

Our ethos is to be the removal company that cares. This includes you, our customer, but also the environment.

Therefore, we are Licensed Waste Carriers. This means that we are registered with the Environment Agency and are obligated to dispose of your goods inline with current legislation.

Any reputable house clearing company or removal company will need be licenced, so make sure you check before booking. 

A waste carrier’s licence needs to be updated every 3 years. We are categorised as an ‘upper tier’ dealer as we carry and dispose of waste professionally.

WHERE DO WE DISPOSE OF GOODS?

Wherever possible we will recycle or donate your items to charity. However, should your items not be suitable then we have no choice but to take your waste to a landfill.

Unfortunately, commercial companies are not allowed to use local recycling centres (“the tip”). This means that there will be a charge imposed by the landfill outfit themselves for the disposal of your waste. This charge is based on the weight of goods, but some items are charged as extra (such as mattresses).

 

WHAT ITEMS CAN WE TAKE?

We’re not ashamed to say that we really aren’t fussy. If you need it clearing then consider it gone. We’ll take away sofas and other large furniture items, white goods, electrical appliances, boxes of books/DVDs/old toys/etc, clothes… However, garden waste is best disposed of by a specialist and there may be more cost effective ways of disposing of single items so please do get in touch to see how we can help/advise.

 

WHAT HAPPENS IF A PROPERTY IS IN PROBATE?

We’re not legal experts, so we’d advise checking where you stand with your solicitor if we are able to step in with your house clearance.
