BEREAVEMENT CLEARANCE
From our Bereavement House Clearance experience, we know that there are lots of things to sort out following the loss of a loved one. Some of these things are immediate, whilst others may take place sometime after their passing. The sale of a property may well be one of the last things left to look after. However, it can still be one of the most painful. Particularly if you have lots of your loved one’s belongings to sort through. That’s where we can come in.
Our bereavement house clearance covers a comprehensive range of practical yet sensitive solutions for getting a property ready for sale. From packing and removal services to temporary or permanent storage solutions. We will help you work through what is often a daunting task, helping to lessen the load.
Please note we have a minimum quota for our Bereavement House Clearances of at least 4 items per job
HOW OUR BEREAVEMENT HOUSE CLEARANCE SERVICE CAN HELP
Some of our customers may have spent some time already sorting through personal effects and just have larger items or non-sentimental pieces they no longer want or need. In these instances, we would book a home survey with you. This appointment would last 20 minutes where our expert surveyor would visit the property and can arrange a quotation following the visit.
DETAILED CONSULTATION
However, if you need someone to sensitively go through the process with you or want to mix and match some of our bereavement house clearance service, a detailed consultation may be the best option. For this appointment, we will allow up to a full hour to visit the property and sit with you to discuss your exact needs and requirements. We will through your loved one’s belongings and make a plan together for how we should proceed.

CLEARANCE
If you have large furniture items and/or a range of non-sentimental pieces that are no longer required, then we can arrange for a simple home clearance. As licensed waste carriers, we will dispose of all goods in-line with government legislation and at a registered recycling centre. If you have arranged for any furniture to be taken to local charity shops, we can drop these off as part of this service.
FURNITURE MOVE
If there are items at the property that you or other family members wish to keep, we will happily arrange for these to be delivered to you. This service can be arranged alongside our standard clearance service. Our expert removal team will use specialist protective covers to wrap any furniture you wish to keep. We can also dismantle and reassemble larger furniture pieces as required.
STORAGE
There may be some belongings that you need a little longer to sort through. Or maybe you’d like to keep something but just don’t have the space at the moment. We can provide short-term or long-term storage solutions. Be it for boxes of photographs, records or personal effects, or for larger furniture items. We can provide units in a range of sizes to suit your needs.

BEREAVEMENT CLEARANCE PACKING SERVICES
You may find it therapeutic to go through a loved one’s small, personal belongings before we come in to do the heavy lifting. However, if you’re not ready to do this yet, are physically unable to, or unfortunately do not have the time, then we are able to take care of the packing for you.
If you select this package, we will take care of the careful packing, wrapping and protecting of all items. Our fully trained team of removal professionals will work room-by-room, filling each box and labelling with the contents. This means that you will have a rough idea of what is in each box when you come to sort through it yourself one day.
All of the materials will be supplied and we will aim to come the day before the main removal. Therefore, this is a good option if you would like some belongings taken to another address or into storage.
FULL PROPERTY CLEAN
The last part of our house clearance after death services is a full property clean. Whether you are selling or need to hand the keys back to a letting agent, it will be expected that the property is cleaned ready for handover. If you select this option, once all furniture and boxes are moved, we will clean:
- Kitchen surfaces & cupboards
- Bathrooms (including toilets, baths & wash basins)
- Hoover all carpets and mop floors
- Internal mirrors and glass, such shower screens & wardrobe doors
- Woodwork such as skirting boards & windowsills
Please do be aware that we are currently unable to clean carpets and there is not enough time to clean internal or external windows as part of our service.
Our cleaning service is on a par with standard ‘end of tenancy cleans’ so you can be rest assured the property will be in ship-shape ready for the agent or new occupiers.

BEREAVEMENT HOUSE CLEARANCES FAQ’s
We know that there can be lots of questions regarding Probate House Clearances.
So that you can get some answers, we’ve prepared our FAQs below. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if your question isn’t addressed here; one of our educated experts will be pleased to assist you.
WHERE WILL MY ITEMS BE DISPOSED OF?
Where possible, we will take items to charity. We can contact a local charity on your behalf or we can take them to a centre of your choice. Please be aware that charities do have to be selective about the items they need or can take. Where items are not able to be donated, we take them to a commercial recycling centre.
WHERE WILL YOU STORE MY ITEMS?
We work in partnership with Space Station so will open a unit at the store closest to you. Alternatively, we can take your items to a different storage facility of your choice.
WILL THERE BE ENOUGH SPACE AT THE STORAGE UNIT TO SORT THROUGH ANY BELONGINGS STORED THERE?
When arranging storage, we usually quote for a room to be stacked high and packed full (for the most cost-effective solution). If you would like to sort out belongings at the storage unit, please let us know so we can arrange for a larger unit. If you are booking a room yourself, we can advise what size you will need.
CAN YOU DISMANTLE AND REASSEMBLE FURNITURE?
Of course! Our team of expert movers can dismantle beds, wardrobes, tables and more. If you would like these to be reassembled at a different property, then we can arrange this for you.
CAN YOU TAKE FURNITURE TO MULTIPLE ADDRESSES?
Yes, we can take different items to different residential addresses, charity shops, storage or to be disposed of, all as part of the same service.
