This is a piece of news we’re sure all of our home removal customers are glad to hear! The Housing Secretary, Robert Jenrick, has confirmed that house moves can restart following revised lockdown measures.
Speaking to the BBC News, Mr Jenrick said, “Our clear plan will enable people to move home safely, covering each aspect of the sales and letting process, from viewings to removals…This critical industry can now safely move forward, and those waiting patiently to move can now do so.”
Here at Jones Services Removals & Storage, we have been putting place measures to conduct home moves safely since the start of the lockdown. However, it is still good to know that the government is giving their permission for removals to get going again.
If you are looking to move house, but are concerned about the safety during current lockdown conditions, we have made adjustments to our whole process.
Getting a Quote
We will be offering customers virtual home surveys for the foreseeable future. This can be done over the phone or by video-call. Alternatively, you can request a blank inventory form. This will be completed and returned to us via email. We’ll send you a quote straight back.
Home Moves During Lockdown
During the home move itself, we only work with a small team. This means that complying with social distancing measures will not be problem. However, to help with this, we may ask you to leave us to it whilst we pack and load your goods. (Don’t worry though, that’s what you’re paying us for after-all). We will also use proper PPE (including gloves and face coverings) and will bring additional cleaning materials to ensure we clean down as we go.
If you would like to book a remote home survey or discuss how we can move you home during lockdown, please call us on 0121 517 0368.
